This blog will show you what goes into selecting the parts for, and building a new PC. This blog will become dated fast as the market changes rapidly and this weeks good picks will not be so good in a few months. You might benefit however, from the telling of the story so you can decide if the effort it takes to build a custom PC works for you.
I will try to illuminate the reasons for picking certain parts and I invite comments. Maybe a reader will have a better idea that I can incorporate into my new PC. A huge part of the project is in the selection of the parts and that takes some time and lots of reading. After that, proper handling and good construction habits will yield a great PC.
My experience in the building of PCs is outlined on my web page, www.assist-computers.com , so you can take comfort that I am not just some yahoo with a screwdriver, I am, in fact, a very experienced yahoo, having built way more than a thousand PCs since 1982. I combine my experience with that of John Hite, an electronics engineer and friend of 40 plus years. Whenever I have a question, John usually provides the answer and whatever lesson in electronics, physics, or other scientific dicipline I need to understand the answer. This wisdom will be passed on to you where time, space, and my limited ability to translate into lay terms allow.
So grab a Jolt Cola to help stay awake and join me for the next post where I'll add some pictures and explain the selections. The parts are due to arrive around September 27th to 28th. More then...
